The Friends have a long history with the Doris Foley Library for Historical Research. For at least thirty years, the Friends have held monthly book sales on the lower level of the building. In 2010, when County finances threatened to close the historic library, the Friends stepped up to not only finance, but operate the library and manage the building.

Photocopies are 20 to 55 cents each, depending on the paper size. At-a-distance researchers can contact the library by phone or email for free advice. Volunteers will locate and photocopy an obituary or article for a total of 15 minutes for a fee of $5.00 plus the cost of photocopies and postage. Additional research beyond the scope of 15 minutes is $15.00 an hour plus the cost of photocopies and postage. The $15.00 research fee applies to all genealogy and research requests.
